Taco’s FloPro University Revs up for its Fourth Year

Taco’s FloPro University (FloPro U) is ready for its fourth-year students with a new factory and in-the-field class schedule. With live webinars and archived video e-learning sessions, FloPro U offers high-quality, highly interactive contractor education programs.

“I know participants are busy, so we’re doing our best to make learning flexible,” said John Barba, Taco’s contractor training and trade program manager. “To do that, we’re taking a multi-pronged approach to contractor training.” The news is that Taco’s main course – “It all Starts with Heat Loss, Part 1” – now has expanded to include the more advanced Part 2. In it, Taco’s “Answer Man,” Ra Puriri, shows industry pros how easy it is to use Taco’s FloPro Designer software to do heat loss calculations.

Barba adds that, on the Taco website are recorded FloPro University e-learning courses, giving installers the opportunity to quiz themselves at the end. These self-guided classes can be viewed at any time, over any computer and for as long as the participant can devote. Each class is broken up into many lessons, each lasting just a few minutes so one can learn at their own pace.

Taco’s online course offering includes:
‘Universal Hydronics Formula’, ‘Variable-Speed Pumping’, ‘Hydronics; Step-by-Step’ and ‘Anatomy of a Circulator.’

“We will conduct live, free webinars every month, with the webinars recorded and archived on Taco’s ‘The Neighborhood,’” added Barba. “These webinars are timely and useful, with topics such as estimating fuel and electrical consumption in residential systems, combustion analysis, advanced low-voltage wiring concepts, ways to make any system more efficient and variable speed pumping.”

More information can be found on the Taco website www.tacocomfort.com. Sign up and join the FloPro Neighborhood to network with contractors across the US and Canada. Members receive email updates about e-learning videos, webinars, factory training sessions, and Barba’s office hours.
